Surgery Laser New!
Ultra-precise cut • Immediate coagulation of the micro-vascularisation
What is laser surgery?
The laser beam has a sufficiently high energy concentration to effectively vaporise or separate tissue.
During the incision, the laser cauterises and closes the small blood vessels using a process called photocoagulation. This considerably reduces the risk of haemorrhage and blood loss . This mechanism also facilitates the work of the surgeon , as bleeding does not impede his visibility. For the majority of surgical procedures, the duration of the operation and of the anaesthetic is significantly reduced, which reduces the risks associated with anaesthesia.
Indications
Any surgery requiring a precise cut in highly vascularised areas. This includes all ENT surgery, the main indication for which is surgery on the soft palate, but also the removal of small tumours or excrescences in dermatology.
Laser surgery effects
-
Infection reduction
The laser has an antimicrobial effect thanks to the energy it releases. The intense heat generated by when it penetrates the tissue eliminates bacteria present on the skin at the surgical site. This considerably reduces the risk of complications after the operation.
-
Pain reduction
The heat released by the laser seals the nerve endings, significantly reducing post-operative pain. This improves the patient’s quality of life.
-
Oedema reduction
The laser can seal the lymphatic vessels responsible for post-surgical oedema, which causes fluid to accumulate in the wound. This can lead to infection and stitch rupture. As oedema is also a source of discomfort, laser surgery greatly minimises these risks, making the operation safer and preventing unexpected complications.
-
Precise surgery
The laser offers great precision, guaranteeing perfect incisions that do not damage adjacent tissue. In addition, the LT24 laser is equipped with a super-pulsed mode, which emits a rapid pulse, approximating a continuous beam, while avoiding overheating the tissue. This mode is particularly suitable for certain procedures where the surrounding tissue is sensitive to heat.
-
Customer satisfaction
Pet owners express great satisfaction with laser surgery, mainly because of the significant reduction in their pet’s recovery time, and the almost total absence of post-operative complications. They also feel reassured by the increased safety offered by this technique.
The LTS24 surgery module is an option for the LT24 therapeutic laser.
